Ellipsis Tree Collective (ETC), the only Afrocentric theatre company in Western Canada, is a new theatre company based in Calgary, Alberta. Founded two years ago by local AfroCaribbean Canadian female artists, we are comprised of experienced creators, performers, writers, directors, and producers. ETC brings an exciting and fresh theatre experience to Calgary, and has successfully expanded the city's theatre audiences by presenting rich, dynamic and compelling stories that echo Calgary's growing and culturally diverse demographic!

The mystery of the ellipsis is what we illuminate and unearth in our process as theatre artists. It is the punctuation used to denote a continuation of speech that remains implied, unarticulated. Thus Ellipsis Tree Collective's continued goal is to illuminate what is unspoken, to nurture and coax into being the thoughts, stories and perspectives of those who have been silent for so long. We are the dot dot dot of the Calgary community, and it is time for our stories to take root and branch out. Those black specks of ink become both the seeds of creation and the ripe fruit of discovery. If the stage is where exciting, provocative and challenging visions are shared, then Ellipsis Tree Collective intends to take both its members and audiences on a powerful journey into uncharted territory: where all good theatre lives.

ETC reflects Calgary's dynamism as a global player in the arts by creating new works and telling stories that have not yet found their way onto the main stages of Calgary theatre. We also enhance the underserved community of talented, emerging and professional artists of colour through stage productions, community outreach programs and audience development.
