Jen Kunlire - For the past five years, Jen Kunlire has been involved in the Slam & Spoken Word Community across Canada – with coast to coast performances from Halifax to Victoria and major cities in between. Past festivals include: two-time member of the Calgary Slam Team competing in the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word & SLAM – Calgary/08 & Victoria/09, a three-time feature in the Calgary International Spoken Word Festival, High Performance Rodeo's 10 Minute Play Festival (ETC), and OFF-Fil festival in Montréal. Jen was also the winner of the 2009 CBC Poetry Face-OFF in Calgary. She has served on the Board of Directors for Writer's Guild of Alberta as the Youth Representative and the Calgary Rep for Spoken Word Canada (SpoCan). Jen also attended the Spoken Word Residency at the Banff Centre and is a current member of the Ink Spot Collective – organizers of the monthly poetry slams in Calgary.
Kenny Ogunleye - Kenny Ogunleye is a native of Nigeria, West Africa, and has been a drummer/percussionist for over 15 years. Having roots in African music, Kenny has also explored other world music such as Brazilian Latin jazz, traditional jazz, hip-hop, rock, gospel, etc. His love for African rhythms can be seen on his Djembe performances, which includes drum circles and lessons.
Kristy Anthony - Kristy’s passion for dance and fitness is undeniable. Born into a world of Caribbean and Hip Hop culture– her versatility and spirit are indisputable. Whether she is teaching a Caribbean workshop, performing for a Hip Hop production or training a client, her energy is electric.
Kristy started Just Vibez Dance and Fitness in 2007, a company aspiring to provide diverse and high quality performance, choreography, instruction and personal training to a diverse Canadian community. In addition, she is also the vice president and head choreographer for Holla Productions Association of Calgary, a not for profit organization focused on supporting and promoting youth in the urban performing arts. Awards include Best Choreography in the Artists' Emerge Western Canada Hip Hop Championships. www.justvibez.com
Edward Ogum - Edward is a dancer, director and actor. He got his training in theatre and dance from Òbafèmi Awolòwò University, Ile Ifè, Nigeria, where he learnt various African dance forms, such as traditional dances from Ghana, Congo, and some Nigerian dances, namely Bàtà, Èkonbi, Swange, Koroso and Atilogu. During his stay at Ifè, he also got the award for Best Dancer for 2 consecutive years. In Calgary, he led a dance workshop for Ellipsis Tree's 2010 production of Lynn Nottage's Ruined. He also created and choreographed Lamb of Kafu - a dance-drama for the 2010 Taking Flight season of the department of Drama, University of Calgary, where he is currently rounding up his MFA in Directing degree.
